Elephant Welfare & Care in Phuket
Understanding how a visit works helps you choose with confidence. Here is how feeding and beach activities are guided at Phuket Siray Elephant Care Camp.
No riding or performances
We do not offer elephant riding or performances. Visits focus on feeding, learning and guided time alongside the elephants.

Feeding with guidance
The team prepares elephant food for the visit and helps guests offer it respectfully. The elephant feeding experience includes learning about diet and daily care. The beach program also includes preparing vitamin balls.

Beach activities follow the elephants’ comfort
Every bathing session is guided by our mahouts. Fresh drinking water is provided, and the elephants’ comfort determines the pace. Guests join guided shoreline and shower activities when appropriate for the elephants.
The elephant bathing program is a guided beach experience. Follow the mahouts’ direction around the elephants and the water; the activities and pace depend on what is appropriate for them.
Space to rest and the caretaker’s role
The elephants have room to move, socialize and rest at the coastal camp. Guides and mahouts lead visitor encounters, helping guests understand the elephants and follow instructions throughout the visit.
For specific questions about rest schedules, an individual elephant’s care or veterinary arrangements, contact the care team before booking.
Visitor guidance
- Follow the team’s guidance throughout your visit and when offering food.
- Listen to your mahout around the elephants and the water.
- A responsible adult should accompany children.
- For beach activities, bring a towel, a change of clothes, insect repellent and beach shoes.
